Philip Tonna is Marsovin’s Oenologist and Technical Manager. He graduated with a B.Sc. Hons degree in Chemistry and a minor in European studies (French) from the University of Sussex before joining Marsovin in 1986 as a trainee oenologist and going off to study at the Institut D’Oenologie of the Universite de Bordeaux where he was awarded the Diplome Nationale D’Oenologie (D.N.O) after successfully completing the two year course in 1988. Since then he has been a pioneer in Maltese winemaking and, together with his team, is responsible for the radical development in the quality and range of Marsovin’s wines over the years.
